Tennis Director
Milwaukee Tennis and Education Foundation seeks its next Tennis Leader.
Who we are: Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation (MTEF) mission is to improve the lives and futures of Milwaukee youth through tennis, education, and mentoring. MTEF serves Milwaukee children who would otherwise lack a safe, productive, and healthy after-school and summer environment. Our high-quality programming offers children the opportunity to learn the lifetime sport of tennis. Additionally, it builds academic skills, improves fitness and health, and helps youth develop the character and life skills necessary to succeed in school and in life.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Providing leadership for all MTEF tennis products including:
Manage MTEF community, summer, and school year tennis programs
Develop level appropriate lessons, drills and coaching to ensure our participants are advancing their skills
Managing part-time tennis staff and volunteers to fulfill our tennis obligations – hire, train, supervise and coach
Serving as an excellent role model on and off the court to our staff, participants, volunteers, and families
Managing all tennis-related equipment needs (balls, racquets, nets, hoppers, etc.)
Promoting tennis in the community.
Working with other MTEF Staff to create, develop and possibly execute enrichment programming for participants
Staffing MTEF fundraising events
As a successful candidate, you have:
A passion for and/or experience with the game of tennis
A positive, team-focused, growth-oriented mindset
Excellent planning and organizational skills
A commitment to support youth to meet their full potential
Experience working with youth in an athletic and/or academic environment
Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse cultural, academic, and economic backgrounds
Confidence facilitating learning activities with a group of students of various ages
Willingness to co-plan and/or co-facilitate with others
Ability and desire to build rapport with program users and partners
A spirit of flexibility and willingness to pivot as needed.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
At least two years part-time or full-time work experience of any kind
This is a year-round, part-time hourly position. 15-20 hours per week, a combination of on-court and off-court administrative hours. Please note that hours are greater at different times of the year (ex. summer) then others. The position has the potential to grow in hours and responsibilities depending on the candidate.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
